theseriouswoman: Woman in the wilderness (1923) Alphonse Mucha  I saw the original canvas when I visited the Mucha Foundation in Prague last autumn, and no scan I have found on the internet does the painting justice. Even in the brightly lit room where it was hung it gave the impression of being softly veiled in shadow and glowing from within, all at once.
