Poster for “Lorenzaccio” - Alphonse Mucha
One of the magnificent examples of Alphonse Mucha’s art nouveau posters. I was lucky enough to visit the museum dedicated to him in Prague this summer. His use of color and space in all his works is really amazing. He has a talent for putting together unexpected colors. I especially like his posters for Sarah Bernhardt, such as this one where she is actually playing the male role of Lorenzo de’ Medici.

I’m researching Prague for work and I was thinking, “Why would anyone wanna go to the Czech Republic?!” until I read that they have a Mucha Museum AND a “Sex Machines Museum.”

I’m sold.

I have a bit of an obsession with Alphonse Mucha.
Here’s one of my favorite.
