Alphonse Mucha, ‘The Passing Wind Takes Youth Away’: design for a fan and the façade of the ‘Pavilion of Man’ (unrealised) (1899)
There are many variations of this design. It was originally designed for the Pavilion of Mankind at the Paris Exposition Universelle of 1900. A woman holds a fan of this type in Plate 37 of Documents Décoratifs.
