Hey, I have to write a report on Alphonse, so are there any important things you think I should put in?
Fuck Yeah Alphonse Mucha Answer:
The thing I like to tell people about Mucha after they’ve seen his advertising posters is his devotion to the Czech national identity and Slavic culture in general.
Sarah Bernhardt and he elevated one another’s careers (his first major poster was “Gismonda” and SB loved it and had him do other posters, as well as pieces for her own Theatre de la Renaissance. It was a symbiotic relationship.
Those are two points I like to make about him, and then I usually fall into a period of gushing over his art and lose my train of thought. Anyone else? Submit your suggestions!
